All the chapters of the Quran (except one) begins with the Divine Formula: "In the Name of God Most Compassionate Most Merciful." That's the God we're dealing with...and tonight in Ramadan as the world is enveloped in the sweetest of Mercies let's soak it all up...we don't have to pay for it. In the chapter that it does not begin with at verse 9:5 it has a similar phrase "God is Forgiving & Merciful"
As we recite the Formula many times a day let it NOT just be simply lip service. We must realise the value in allowing a certain latitude to people who find themselves in difficult positions, and face extreme measures....as God continually reminds us of His Compassion & Mercy. We are to also display these qualities too.
A society without mercy is a society without compassion; moreover, such a society demonstrates a dangerously anti-social principle, namely the irrelevance of actual social factors in influencing the behaviour of individuals.
Shamal: Mercy bears richer fruits than strict justice
